Descon is a multidisciplinary event and technologically ecological hackathon, which this year dealt with the topic of Minimum {viable} datasets. The event brought together the technical community of Serbia, recognized academic world experts in the field of machine learning, but also internet enthusiasts, students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, as well as digital nomads living in Serbia.

Descon 8.0 was held on September 13th and 14th in the Impact hub, Makedonska 21 in Belgrade. The lectures and panel discussions were well attended both on site and online. We had a significant number of participants who came from all over the world.
The lectures dealt with contemporary issues such as: "dark data", ethical digitization, archiving and historical toxicity, challenges related to ecological, functional, regulatory datasets and privacy preservation, etc.
On the second day, lectures covered topics such as the impact of the Internet on the environment, the results of research on the ecological Internet index in Asia, IoT security and open source tools, as well as the digital climate atlas of Serbia presented by Professor Vladimir Đurđević.
The visitors were interested in issues of ecology and sustainable development, in the development of digital tools, but also in scientific activism (citizen science), which is extremely important for solving problems such as open data research, air and environmental pollution, as well as digital infrastructure.
As part of the event itself, a Klimerko workshop was organized where we trained twenty workshop participants how to assemble a Klimerko air quality monitoring device themselves. (civil measurement). Each of the workshop participants received their own Klimerko device, which they installed and mounted at their location.
The hackathon was about the innovation of Klimerko and the new sensor upgrade. The winning Hackathon team Žarko, Despot and Novak created a prototype version of the mobile Klimerko using a mobile phone's wifi network.
Participants of the hackathon and the top three competitors of the Capture the Flag competition won valuable prizes.
