U Srbijii, prema podacima Republičkog zavoda za statistiku u 2011 godini, svega 31% stanovništva koristi širokopojasni internet.  Uvođenje informacionih tehnologija u rad državnih organa, pogotovo u delu rada sa građanima kroz uvođenje e-uprave, ističe potrebu za podizanjem svesti i povećanjem broja korisnika širokopojasnog interneta među građanima. S toga je značajno pomenuti aktivnosti Uprave za Digitalnu agendu s početka aprila.
